Akshay Kumar played Cupid when he introduced actor Asin to his friend businessman Rahul Sharma and in a recent interview, Rahul revealed that Akshay had actually kept a plane on standby when Asin was about to have a baby. Asin and Rahul welcomed their daughter Arin in 2017. Rahul shared that Akshay kept in touch with him throughout the day and was really excited for this new chapter of Rahul’s life. Akshay also revealed that he and Rahul have been friends for many years and share a deep bond with each other.
During an interview on Dhawan Karenge with Shikhar Dhawan, Shikhar shared a video message by Rahul and showed it to Akshay who was quite emotional after watching the video. Rahul shared in the video, “When my daughter was about to be born, he kept calling me and saying that tell me when it happens. I said ‘yes, of course.’ When she was born, he was the first person I called and said ‘brother, good news’, and he said ‘fantastic’.”
Rahul shared that his daughter Arin was born in Kochi and in a few hours’ time, Akshay was there, even before Rahul’s family members. “He had kept a plane on standby since morning to get there as soon as she is born. Even before my family came, he was the first to come in and… This is a memory that I can never forget in my life,” Rahul shared. He added that Akshay has been his strength throughout his life and added, “When I have to do something big in life, I go ahead thinking that you are beside me. I get this strength from you.”

He recalled that almost 10-15 years ago, when Rahul was at a crossroads, Akshay gave him the strength to carry on and declared his support for Rahul and mentioned, “He has stayed true to his word.” Akshay also spoek highly of Rahul and said that he is a great person and is extremely positive. “He is madly in love with his wife, his child. It’s like he treats her like a goddess. We share a deep friendship. Sometimes we don’t speak for 2-3 weeks, but then we start from the same place again,” Akshay said.
Asin had earlier revealed that she met Rahul while she was shooting for Housefull 2 and it was after Akshay introduced them, they started dating each other.
