It is unknown why the makers have opted out of the Pongal race. Currently, Sivakarthikeyan’s Ayalaan and Dhanush’s Captain Miller are set to clash at the box office. It is rumoured that Dhanush and Sivkarthikeyan are not on good terms, which has led to fans of both the stars being at loggerheads online. There is a huge expectation to see who will win the box office this Pongal. With Lal Salaam opting out of the race, the fight has become intense.

Both films will now have a fair share of screens and only the audience will decide how the numbers will tilt post the release. While Ayalaan is a sci-fi movie about an alien’s journey on earth, Captain Miller is a historical fiction, set in pre-independence India, about a vigilante taking on British forces in Madras province.

On the other hand, Lal Salaam, directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, has Rajinikanth in a cameo as Moideen Bhai. The film revolves around cricket and how it is spoilt by politics. AR Rahman has composed music for the film. Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth play local cricket rivals in Lal Salaam.
