Captain Miller’s trailer assured that the film, like Arun Matheshwaran’s earlier movies and like every other star vehicle these days, will be a blood bath. The trailer’s background score, like in the trailers of Kamal Haasan’s Viswaproopam and Vikram’s Dhruvanatchathiram, was made of bullet and bomb sounds. The promo teemed with bodies blowing up, heads getting pulverised by bullets and blood splashes. However, the new song from Captain Miller tells there is a calm (before the storm) segment in the film.

Titled “Kombari Vettapuli”, the song, composed by GV Prakash and sung by Dhee, is a folksy number. Of course with Dhee’s rendition, it effortlessly generates a rural flavour. And the stills show Dhanush as this smitten young and working-class guy, who is lost in the beauty of Priya Arul Mohan’s character. She, on the other hand, seems to be a girl of an affluent background. However, what tells more about the film is lyricist Vivek’s lines.

Kombari vettai puli paaru adhu koothada pona kadha kelu. Vengaiku vesham kattum aadu. Ada aatukku edhu puli vaalu (Look at our hunting tiger, and listen to the story of when it went for street drama. A goat disguising to be a tiger. But how will a goat grow a tiger’s tail?),” goes the line which pretty much describes the life of Captain Miller before he becomes a vigilante.

One can assume that an incident propels both Miller and his love to take up lives that are totally in contrast to what they are. Yet, one has to wait till January 12 to know if all the speculations turn out to be true. Captain Miller will clash with Sivakarthikeyan’s Ayalaan and Aishwarya’s Laal Salaam at the box office this Pongal.
