Kamal Haasan‘s Thug Life, directed by Mani Ratnam, went on floors in Delhi in the last week of April, and a picture from the sets of the film is making the rounds of social media. The photo has also confirmed speculation that Silamabrasan is part of the movie as it features the Manmadhan actor in a stylish avatar.

Other than Kamal and Silamabarasan, the latest leaked photo also features Abhirami, Nassar, and Vaiyapuri in what appears to be a festival scene in the film. The picture confirms that Thug Life will feature frequent collaborators of Kamal. Abhirami played Annalakshmi in Kamal’s Virumaandi. On the other hand, Nasser has been an essential part of many of Kamal’s films like Thevar Magan, Anbe Sivam, and Kurudhi Punal.

The still has excited Silambarasan fans the most as the actor’s last collaboration with Mani Ratnam, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, turned out to be a much-needed success for the actor. His fans are excited to see what Mani has in store for Simbu in the upcoming film.

The shooting took place at Sankat Mochan Hanuman Mandir at Aerocity Delhi. This Delhi schedule slated to continue until May 12, is just the beginning of Thug Life’s journey which will be shot in the capital city and Chennai.

Thug Life marks the much-awaited reunion of Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam after a staggering 36 years. They last collaborated for Nayakan (1987). Hence, the anticipation for Thug Life is at an all-time high. Adding to the excitement is the speculation that Kamal is sporting three distinct looks in the film.

The star-studded supporting cast also includes the likes of Jayam Ravi, Trisha and Gautham Karthik, among others. With AR Rahman composing the music, Ravi K Chandran behind the lens, and Sreekar Prasad editing, Thug Life features a typical Mani Ratnam technical unit.

Produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies, Thug Life is expected to be released next year.
