A survival thriller that’s based on a true story! Like everyone else, I’ve also watched Manjummel Boys. This film has reignited the ‘never give up’ attitude within me.”

“This story is an example of friendship, willpower and persistence. And its stunning visuals and mind-blowing performances made it a blockbuster hit. It is a must-watch and for me, it already is my favourite film of the year so far,” he adds.

Unlike most recent films that debuted on OTT platforms within 30-45 days of their theatrical release, Manjummel Boys premiered digitally 73 days after its theatrical release on February 22 this year. This delay was due to the film’s massive success in theatres across various states and languages in which it was dubbed. Grossing a total of Rs 240.59 crore worldwide, according to industry tracker Sacnilk, Manjummel Boys currently stands as the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time.

In his review of the film, The Indian Express’ Anandu Suresh wrote, “Chidambaram’s survival thriller, starring Soubin Shahir and Sreenath Bhasi, can indeed be seen as a powerful tribute to the real Manjummel Boys and their determined efforts to save their dear one.”
