Janhvi Kapoor, who recently announced that her late mother Sridevi’s Chennai house will be available on Airbnb, shared some fun memories from her family vacations at the event hosted by the online company. Janhvi recalled that when she was younger, her father Boney Kapoor would make it a point that his daughters see every corner of the world so when they get married, they can tell their partners that they have seen everything. Janhvi said that as her father made “hectic itineraries,” it would give her mother a “lot of anxiety.”

Janhvi shared at the event that her mother “just wanted to relax” but eventually ended up ‘having a lot of fun” on these trips. Janhvi recalled a “memorable trip” to the Amalfi Coast, Italy, where her entire family, along with two of their staff members, were travelling in a van eating theplas and paranthas. She also mentioned that her father likes to travel with Indian chillies because he really likes their taste.

“It was us, this big Indian family and we had this van that could accommodate all of us. Us also includes our cook and Ramu, who technically is my Dad’s boy but I think that he is my Dad’s best friend and we had to travel with them because he doesn’t go anywhere without mangoes and chillies from India. Because chillies outside India arent that spicy apparently,” she recalled with a smile.

Janhvi said that many of the roads in Italy were quite narrow so they would find it really hard to squeeze their van onto those roads. “In the evenings, people would be out on the streets, playing music, having drinks but in comes this big black jeep blasting South Indian music and having theplas and paranthas in the van,” she remembered with a smile and said, “That trip was very memorable.”

Janhvi Kapoor’s property in Chennai, which was the first house owned by Sridevi, will be available for Airbnb users as part of their Icons program. To stay in the house, one can apply and will have to go through a screening process but the actual stay in the property is free of cost.
