Pyaar Prema Kaadhal (2018), starring Harish Kalyan and Raiza Wilson, turned out to be a surprise hit that put the film’s director Elan in the limelight. The film was a breath of fresh air that dealt with the issues in modern romance and live-in relationships. Though Elan had directed a movie named Grahanam before, the rom-com made him a director to watch out for. However, the director went missing from action for a long time only to return with a film titled Star, starring Kavin of Bigg Boss Tamil fame.
Even as Star is gearing up for release, Elan is in the news for his future project, which would star Tamil star Dhanush. For a while, it was rumoured that Elan was teaming up with Maari actor, but now, the director has confirmed it in an interview with Ananda Viktan. Confirming the news, he said, “It can be expected to materialize soon. Both Dhanush sir and I have a lot of trust in the script. It is a Madurai-based story. We both are sure that we shouldn’t do it just for the sake of it. The scale of the script is such that. Dhanush sir wants to make it on a proper platform.”
It is said that Elan-Dhanush’s film could turn out to be the 55th project of the actor. Yuvan Shankar Raja, who composed hit songs for Pyaar Prema Kaadhal, will be teaming up with Elan for the big-budget film.
Currently, Dhanush is busy with four projects. He will next be seen in Sekhar Kammula’s Kubera. Simultaneously, he is also working in his directorial Raayan. He will also be helming a film titled Nilavuku Enmel Ennadi Kobam, under his production house. On top of it all, he also has the biopic of Ilaiyaraaja, which is directed by Arun Matheshwaran.
