Bollywood actor Pooja Bhatt and filmmaker Sanjay Gupta have strongly condemned the recent firing incident outside Salman Khan’s Bandra home, calling it ‘horrific.’ Expressing concerns over Salman and his family’s safety, she emphasised that security in Mumbai’s Bandra is merely an ‘illusion.’

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Pooja wrote, “Horrific and condemnable. If this can happen with a police van parked outside the Khan residence for protection then it is fair to say that safety is an illusion. Need more stringent surveillance in Bandra for certain. Robberies were rife a while ago and now a shoot out? Scary.”

Sanjay wrote on X, “Firing at building at 5 am displays cowardice…”

Salman Khan has resided with his family in the same Galaxy Apartment for over two decades, situated in the upscale Bandstand area of Bandra West. Despite being a prominent location frequently visited by people from all over, the residence is not extravagant. Salman explained his choice of living there during an interview on Farah Khan’s chat show, Tere Mere Beech Mein, in 2009. He clarified that the decision was influenced by his desire to be close to his parents, especially his mother Salma Khan.

Farah asked on the show, “You are the world’s superstar and you earn like crores but you are living in the one-bedroom-hall just because it is situated below your mom’s house.” He confessed, “Yes. Actually, it is a three-bedroom hall but I don’t know how it became into a one-bedroom-hall.”

Farah further asked, “Do you have security feeling that you are close to your mom,” Salman responded, “When we go up, we go lay down next to mom and dad.”

During the same interview, Salman shared insights into how fans often gather outside their apartment, prompting police requests for him to greet them briefly to disperse the crowd. However, his father, Salim Khan, discouraged the practice, fearing it would encourage more frequent visits from fans.

In response to the recent shooting incident, one of the suspects, Vishal alias Kalu, associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, was arrested. Vishal, who had previously been arrested in a case of motorbike theft in 2020 and sent to Tihar jail, was identified through CCTV footage.

Meanwhile, Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for the shooting in a Facebook post. However, the police have not disclosed the identity of the second suspect involved in the incident yet.
