Producer Vashu Bhagnani has claimed that his latest venture Bade Miyan Chote Miyan will cross Rs 1,000 cr the global box office, a figure crossed only by Shah Rukh Khan in the Hindi film industry. The film, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, is gearing to release on April 10.

In a video shared by his son, actor Jackky Bhagnani, Vashu Bhagnani is seen in a car, being relaxed and confident about the film. His claims, however, left fans wondering if he was being optimistic or overconfident.

The video shows Jackky Bhagnani reminding fans that the actioner is seven days away from the release. “From the real life chote miyan to the real life bade miyan,” the actor says and points the camera towards his father. “Chote miyan chinta mat kar, Rs 1,100 cr confirmed hai worldwide, 100 percent,” the veteran producer says with a huge smile. The video ends with a happy Jackky saying, “tathastu” (so be it).

The clip was shared by an Akshay Kumar fan on X, which soon went viral. Though other fandoms started trolling Vashu Bhagnani’s claims, some Akshay Kumar fans also wondered if the producer had gone too far with his claims.

“Delete kr bhai,” wrote a fan to the user who had posted the clip, prompting him to tweet in return that he has gotten multiple DMs to remove the video, as it was leading to trolling of the actor.

“Ye kuch zyada hi hogya,” wondered a user on the claims, while another one wrote, “1000 crore is not a joke, but I hope BMCM does it. 90s stars should rule always.”

For context, Rs 1,000 cr benchmark has been a rarity in the Hindi film industry, which crossed the benchmark only last year with Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan. The spy actioner became the first film to gross Rs 1,050 cr worldwide. Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, which was a huge blockbuster, came close to the figure as it grossed Rs 917 worldwide.

Bollywood’s highest worldwide grosser still remains Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, which smashed all records when it released last year in September. The Atlee directorial minted Rs 1, 148 cr worldwide.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan will have a box office face off with Ajay Devgn’s sports biopic Maidaan, which is also set to release on Eid. While the former is an actioner directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the latter is helmed by Amit Sharma of Badhaai Ho fame.
