Actress Saranya Ponvannan is known for playing the quintessential mother of Tamil heroes with a kind heart and immense love for her son. Given the nature of her onscreen roles, a complaint filed against the actress has taken Tamil cinema fans by surprise. According to the complaint filed by Saranya’s neighbor, the actress has issued a death threat while fighting over a parking space.
According to reports, a fight broke out between Saranya and her neighbor Sridevi regarding the parking space in front of their house. It is said that Sridevi while taking her car out of her parking space hit Saranya’s car with the iron gate thereby damaging the vehicle. This led to a verbal spat between Saranya and Sridevi’s family.
According to Thanthi TV, Sridevi has filed a complaint against Saranya at the local Chennai police station claiming that the actress has been verbally harassing her and issued death threats even though she had issued an apology for accidentally damaging her vehicle.
A video of the CCTV camera outside Sridevi’s house has gone viral on social media, which features Saranya, her husband Ponavanan, and a youngster having a heated argument with Sridevi.
The report further claimed that Saranya Ponvannan has also filed a complaint against Sridevi claiming that she keeps intruding into their parking space by keeping her gate open. She has also been accused of using derogatory statements against Saranya.
Recently, a Tamil film named Parking, starring Harish Kalyan and MS Bhaskar, dealt with a similar issue. It followed the fight between two families over a parking space outside their house. Fans online noted how art and life keep mimicking each other.
Saranya made her debut as an actress with Mani Ratnam’s Nayakan. She went on to act in numerous Tamil and Telugu films. However, her return to Tamil cinema playing aged roles garnered her more fans. She is known for her roles in Ram, Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, M Magan, Kalavani, and Velaiyilla Pattathari. She was last seen in Conjuring Kannappa and will return with the film Brother starring Jayam Ravi in the lead role.
