The teaser transports the audience to a dark digital world where three parallel stories unfold, depicting that love and betrayal have severe repercussions at a time when everyone is obsessed with social media and instant gratification. One of the stories is of a transwoman, trying to carve her niche, as she strives to make a career in acting. Other recurring themes include the superficial world of reality shows and youngsters’ obsession with followers and views.  The film, which features Uorfi Javed, Mouni Roy, Tusshar Kapoor, Anu Malik, Swaroopa Ghosh, Swastika Mukherjee Anupam Joardar and Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia, explores the complexities of relationships and identities in the high-tech age of online dating and virtual reality. The strong visuals and peppy background music make the teaser compelling.

A sequel to Dibakar Banerjee’s 2010 film, Love Sex Aur Dhokha (LSD), which centred on the perils of hidden cameras, LSD 2, talks about love in the times of the internet. For over a month, the makers of LSD 2 have kept the audiences captivated by teasing them with posters and creatives related to the film, on social media.

Ahead of the trailer release,  Dibakar issued a disclaimer warning audiences of shocking and bold content they can expect, earlier on Monday.  The director’s video message highlighted the film’s “dark and delicious” narrative. In the video, he said, “Making LSD and not showing the truth is not possible. So, while making LSD 2, we portrayed the same truth, an authentic picture of life that we see all around us. But, these days, instead of believing the truth, the fashion of ignoring the truth has increased. So, if you are in that fashion, then I can give you a disclaimer that you should not watch the LSD 2 teaser or trailer,” he added.  He also emphasised minors must not watch the film’s teaser or trailer.

Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures, in association with Cult Movies, has produced LSD 2 which is all set to release on April 19.
