The first episode of Netflix’s The Great Indian Kapil Show, which dropped on Saturday, had actor Ranbir Kapoor, his mother Neetu Kapoor and sister Riddhima Kapoor as its guests. The episode was filled with comedy and surprises and also had comedian Kapil Sharma’s wife Ginni Chatrath in the audience. When Neetu shared how marriage and fatherhood have changed Ranbir, who is married to Alia Bhatt and has a daughter Raha, Ginni was asked if Kapil has changed post-marriage and birth of their children — Anayra and Trishaan.

“Biwi saamne hai toh sudhra hua rehta hai par ghar se nikalta hai to main koi guarantee nahin le sakti (He behaves well in front of me but I am not sure once he leaves the house,” said Ginni. Kapil was quick to respond, “Ghar main kuch bhi boloon, toh kehti hain faaltu baatein mat karo. Yahaan log mujhe faaltu baatein karne ke paise dete hain (No matter what I say at home, she feels I am blabbering, but I get paid for doing it here on the show),” he quipped.

When Archana Puran Singh and Neetu asked Ginni what she thought of Kapil as a father, she said, “He is the best dad. He is very hands-on.” However, who loves to poke fun, wasted no time in teasing his wife, “Main toh beti ko sambhala tha yeh toh dusra baccha paida karne mein lag gayi (I was taking care of our daughter Anayra while was pregnant with the second child),” he said, to which Ginni reacted,  “Toh woh meherbani kiski thi (Who was responsible for the pregnancy)? Anayra was just five months old when I conceived my second baby.” A shy Kapil then said, “Us waqt COVID  chal raha tha (It was COVID times)”.

Kapil’s mother, who is a regular in the audience, said marriage or parenthood hasn’t changed the Zigwato actor. “Waise ka waisa hi hai. Pehle bhi badmash tha abhi bhi badmash. (He hasn’t changed a bit. He was full of mischief then, he is full of mischief now).”
