Actor and politician Hema Malini went down memory lane and remembered late mother Jaya Chakravarthy on the latter’s birth anniversary. Hema shared some old pictures of her mother and the times the mother-daughter duo got clicked together.

Hema wrote a beautiful message in the caption where she expressed gratitude towards her mother for supporting her career as a Bharatnatyam performer and eventually an actor.

Hema’s fans also showered love in the comment section and wished the best for the actor. Jaya Chakravorty passed away in early 2000s. Ever since the Dream Girl actor remembers her mother on her birth and death anniversary.

Hema had earlier revealed how it was her mother, who convinced her to take up Baghbaan and play the role of a mother to four grown up sons.

In an interview with Lehren Retro, Hema shared how she was hesitant to take up the part. “But my mother said, ‘No no no, you must do it!’ I said, ‘Why?’ ‘No, the story is very good. You must do it.’ How she was after me. I said, ‘Okay, I’ll do it.’ But before that I felt… See, before that, I wasn’t doing films. After a long gap, I was working. So I thought, ‘Why should I do this?’ But she said, ‘No, you must do this. The role is very nice.’”

Hema is mother to Esha Deol and Ahaana Deol and wife of superstar Dharmendra.
