Amitabh Bachchan recently provided an update regarding the much-anticipated Telugu sci-fi film Kalki 2989 AD, featuring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in pivotal roles. With less than two months to its release, Bachchan took to his blog to share his experience of working on Nag Ashwin’s project. Bachchan is working till late at night on the project, but he revealed it is all coming to an end, as the production is currently on the last leg of the shoot.

In his blog post, Bachchan wrote, “Late again… but late from work last night… as the completion of KALKI approaches… and as has been informed it is May 9th of the release… So last efforts to get all in shape and in order to bring to all an experience that promises the vision of the makers.”

Only vague glimpses of Amitabh’s character have been revealed till now. Going by the look, Big B is playing the role of a character living for a long time. His character is reminiscent of Gandalf from the Lord of the Rings series. Kalki 2898 AD has sparked considerable anticipation among Prabhas fans, as it is made on a huge scale with Kamal Haasan,

Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh coming together for the first time. It aims to marry Indian mythology with sci-fi themes, and this seems to be only the beginning of a bigger franchise.

Scheduled for a May 8 theatrical release, the film has music by Santhosh Narayanan. C Ashwani Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies is producing the high-budget production, which will be released in multiple languages across the country.
