Actors Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sensharma starred together in the 2009 romantic-comedy, Wake Up Sid. Their on-screen pairing and the film got a lot of appreciation from all the quarters. Now, a behind-the-scenes video of the two stars, presumably from a set of a movie or an ad film has left fans excited about watching them back on the screen together, with some also hoping for a sequel to Wake Up Sid.
A video which has been going viral on Reddit has Ranbir, Konkona and actors Namit Das and Shikha Talsania, who played Ranbir’s friends in the 2009 film, working on something. While Ranbir is dressed casually in a blue shirt and off-white pants, Konkona is dressed just like her Wake Up Sid character Aisha, in a white kurta and denim, paired with a dupatta around her neck. Namit is seen in a red floral shirt and beige-coloured shorts. Shikha too looks similar to her character in the film, Laxmi in her pink shirt and blue denim.
As the video caught the attention of internet users, they expressed their wish to see Ranbir and Konkona together in a film. “Please make a movie both of you. Sid & Ayesha should be back,” a Reddit user wrote. Another added, “Sid and aisha 15 years later. Wow i feel so old 😢” A comment read, “It would be nice to see a sequel to Wake up sid 15 years later..Could explore so many topics.” A user also suggested, “Konkana is brilliant director rising through ranks pretty fast. Would love to see her direct a movie with RK as a lead.”

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, Wake Up Sid was a breezy take on adulting. It had Konkona Sensharma playing an earnest, hardworking and independent young woman, completely opposite to the protagonist Sid, played by Ranbir. He was shown to be a carefree youngster, who cared little about his career. The film also starred veteran actors Anupam Kher and Supriya Pathak.
Currently, Ranbir Kapoor is basking in the success of his latest release Animal. Konkona delivered a critically acclaimed segment, The Mirror, in Lust Stories 2 last year.
