After Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu praised the Malayalam blockbuster film Premalu, filmmaker SS Rajamouli has also joined the fan club of the film and said that he is mildly jealous of the Malayalam industry for producing great talent.

Rajamouli’s son Karthikeya acquired the Telugu distribution rights for the film, and at a promotional event in Hyderabad, Rajamouli heaped praise on the film. The director of Baahubali admitted to not being a fan of romantic comedies but mentioned that Premalu was an exception.

He added, “It’s meant to be watched in theatres because it’s hilarious when the people next to you laugh, you enjoy it more.” Rajamouli added that the Malayalam film industry has the best actors and said, “It is with jealousy and pain that I admit the Malayalam film industry produces better actors. In this film too, they did a fantastic job.” He praised Mamitha Baiju, the lead actor of the film, for her performance and compared her to Sai Pallavi.

Only a few days ago, Mahesh Babu took to X (Formerly Twitter) and wrote, “Thank you @ssk1122 for bringing #Premalu to the Telugu audience… Thoroughly enjoyed it…. Can’t remember the last time when I laughed so much while watching a film… The entire family loved it Top class acting by all the youngsters Congratulations to the entire team!!”
