What happens when Shah Rukh Khan and Sunil Grover share a stage? Laughter, jokes and a lot of dance. The two actors gave a glimpse of their union in the latest promo of Zee Cine Awards 2024 where their comic timing was at its peak.

The clip features Shah Rukh and Sunil in a re-imagined Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham skit, with the film’s iconic background score playing. Sunil is seen dressed in a saree.

In the skit, like Jaya Bachchan, Sunil Grover stands there to greet the superstar, with an aarti thali in his hand. When Shah Rukh bows to touch his feet, the way he did with Jaya, he realises something is different. “Mummy, why are you wearing babuji’s shoes?”

To which Sunil replies with a smile, “Dhyaan se dekho beta, main babuji he hu,” and quickly transitions to Amitabh Bachchan’s baritone to announce, “Everybody shava-shava.”

Shah Rukh Khan and Sunil Grover, still dressed in a saree, then break into the song’s iconic choreography as the camera pans to actor brothers Ayushmann Khurrana and Aparshakti Khurrana in splits. The duo was also hosting the awards.

In another clip posted by the Instagram page of Zee Cine Awards, Shah Rukh Khan’s solo dance performance is teased. “Kursi ki peti baandh lo, mausam bigadne waala hai,” the superstar says his popular line from Pathaan as the audience–including Alia Bhatt–erupts in applause.
