The much-awaited Mollywood Magic event featuring top Malayalam stars like Mohanlal and Mammootty has been cancelled. It was supposed to take place at the 974 Stadium in Qatar on March 7. According to reports, the organizers said the stars had visa problems, and there were also issues with the weather and technical difficulties. Mollywood Magic was jointly organised by the Kerala Film Producers Association and the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists.
Nine One Events took to their social media page and informed fans about the sudden cancellation of the event. They said they’ll refund the ticket money to everyone within 60 days. The event was originally planned for November 2023 but got postponed to March 2024 because Qatar didn’t allow it due to the Israel-Palestine conflict.

The event organisers shared a post which read, “We Nine One Events regret to inform you that Mollywood Magic, scheduled on March 7th, 2024, has been cancelled due to technical issues and weather conditions. We understand how much you were looking forward to this event, and we are truly sorry for the inconvenience caused.”

Mohanlal, after wrapping up the third schedule of his upcoming film L2 Empuraan in the USA, also made his way to Doha Nearly 200 artistes from the Malayalam film industry were gearing up to participate in the Mollywood Magic event. Mollywood Magic was supposed to be directed by Edavela Babu, M Renjith, and Nadirshah.
Reports also suggest that actors like Rimi Tommy, Anarkali Marakkar, Swasika, Shweta Menon, Jayasuriya, Dileep and Mammootty had already arrived in Doha ahead of the big day.
