The statement leaves you uncomfortable. On Sunday, Priyanka Chopra, who turned executive producer for the Indian docu film, dropped the trailer on her Instagram handle and called it “Truly remarkable.” The film will be released on Netflix. Dev Patel and Mindy Kaling have also joined as executive producers.

The actress recently joined the team of To Kill A Tiger, directed by Indian-Canadian filmmaker Nisha Pahuja. When Priyanka watched the film at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) back in September 2022, she was deeply moved. The film chronicles a father’s unwavering pursuit of justice for his daughter, a survivor of sexual assault, living in Jharkhand. Recently, the Dostana star took to her Instagram handle to share her excitement and announce Netflix’s acquisition of global distribution rights. “I’m incredibly proud to join the team of this powerful documentary,” Priyanka wrote, expressing her admiration for the film’s impact.

She highlighted its portrayal of a father’s courageous fight and the unwavering love for his child. Priyanka shared that she personally resonated with the story of the survivor. “This hard-hitting piece of art also really hits home on so many levels, but I was born in the state of Jharkhand (where the survivor and her father are from), and as the daughter of a father that was my forever champion…I was moved to pieces. I cannot wait for audiences around the world to discover this moving story,” she shared in her post.
