Alia Bhatt is currently immersed in promoting her upcoming web series Poacher, for which she serves as an executive producer. The series, based on real-life incidents, delves into the lives of forest officials uncovering an ivory poaching ring. In a recent interview, Alia elaborated on her decision to back the project and shared insights on how her daughter, Raha, is connecting with nature.

In a conversation with The Hindu, Alia disclosed her motivation behind supporting Poacher. She said, “When you are a child you are naturally connect with nature and you feel a sense of clam around animals and I am seeing this first hand literally witnessing my daughter grew up around animals and she has a natural love and excitement around them. Over the couple of years when you grow up, your mind gets filled with school and life and it all gets cluttered. There is a scientific explanation that when you see green your body releases dopamine and their is a natural sense of calmness that you feel.”

Alia’s deep connection with animals goes back to her childhood. Explaining the same, she said, “My love for animals started as a child when me and my sister would rescue kittens and sometimes foster and give them away or sometimes keep them with us. My mother used to throw a fit saying that ‘what are you doing?’ But then she would also get attached. So, it happened inherently happened. I think we all have a responsibility towards our planet.”

Recently, Alia graced a special screening of Poacher in London. Directed by International Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Richie Mehta, the web series stars Malayalam star Nimisha Sajayan, alongside Roshan Mathew and Dibyendu Bhattacharya, in pivotal roles.
