Bigg Boss 17 fame Abhishek Kumar might not have won the reality show, but he has won many hearts. While his journey on Bigg Boss was tough, with his ex-Isha Malviya also coming on the show as a contestant, what made it tougher were the accusations made against Abhishek. One such allegation was that Abhishek was thrown out of the TV show Udaariyan due to his anger issues. But now, the show’s producer producer Sargun Mehta has denied the claims.
Praising Abhishek, Sargun told Siddharth Kannan, “It’s not like that, Abhishek was going through a really tough time back then. He and Isha were having whatever issues they had, we are nobody to get into somebody’s personal life, but the track had to end when it did. It came at a time when people thought this might be the reason, but it’s not true. If this would have been the case, we would have spoken to him. Abhishek was such a nice kid when I auditioned him for the first time…I saw him on Instagram and messaged him asking if he would do the role. Everybody in Udaariyaan was new except for Ankit Gupta, and Priyanka Chahar Choudhary had not done a lead role.”
Sargun also shared an interesting anecdote, revealing that Abhishek was the first actor to get cast. She said, “When Priyanka came on set she thought what kind of a show we are making that we took her as a lead. She said that to me so many times. Isha was also scared that she didn’t know much, except for Abhishek. We locked him very long back, when no one from Priyanka, or Ankit was also cast. He was the first guy to be locked. He would call us every weekend asking if he was replaced. He had so much innocence, he wanted to work.”

Sargun also added, how Abhishek’s talent got his role extended. She shared, “When we wrote the show, Abhishek was only blocked for 5 to 7 days in a month. When he came for the mock shoot, I realised he would do great. So when we started the show, he was being used like 20-25 days a month. He was so good that we dragged him in a lot of more scenes.”

Sargun even commented on claims that Isha Malviya made about Udaariyan co-stars being jealous of her. She said, “When we were in our 20s and would get so much media attention, sometimes we would say the right things and sometimes the wrong things. We wouldn’t know what was said. So Isha’s claims are not something to feel bad about, she is a very nice girl. She has worked very hard on Udaariyaan. We all have given our best to the show. They have done a lot of good for the show, to us, and the channel.”

On the work front, Abhishek will soon be seen in a music video with Mannara Chopra. He is also rumoured to be a part of Khatron Ke Khiladi 14. Sargun, on the other hand, will be seen starring in the Punjabi film Jatt Nuu Chudail Takri, with Gippy Grewal and Roopi Gill.
