Esha Deol and Bharat Takhtani recently announced their separation after 11 years of marriage. The two first met as teenagers when they were both in school and actually went out a few times before Esha decided to end their budding romance. A few years later, the two met as adults, and rekindled their relationship. Esha and Bharat opened up about the first time they started going out in their wedding video, which was shared on YouTube.

“It was a kind of a hide and seek case between us,” she said. Esha’s sister Ahana shared that Esha’s childhood romance with Bharat first started when she was in 9th or 10th standard. But soon after, they had a “misunderstanding” and Esha decided to part ways with Bharat. “There was some kind of misunderstanding,” Bharat said and Esha explained that their sweet little romance ended because Bharat tried to hold her hand.

“Bharat took me for a drive and he tried to hold my hand and I was like ‘How dare you hold my hand?’ and I flipped out, and I lost it and I’m like… After that day, I didn’t take his calls or speak to him or anything. Then many years later, once we got back, finally at the same signal he asked ‘Baby, can I hold your hand now?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah. you can’,” she recalled with a smile. Bharat said that after they got back together, which was after a gap of almost 10 years, they “were again on fire basically.”
