After much anticipation, the makers of Manjummel Boys unveiled the film’s trailer on Thursday. The trailer confirms that the film is based on the real-life rescue efforts of a youth who had fallen into the Guna caves, also known as Devil’s Kitchen, in Kodaikanal.

The trailer kicks off with a voiceover introducing the Guna caves as the Devil’s Kitchen, setting a foreboding tone with scenes of dark and dingy caves. It then introduces the audience to a group of childhood best friends who embark on a trip to Kodaikanal. Flashbacks of their childhood playing hide-and-seek overlay their exploration of the treacherous caves. When one of their friends falls into the cave’s depths, they alert the police, who blame them for being careless and risking their lives. This leads the initiation of the daring, impossible rescue operation.

The film boasts an ensemble cast featuring some of the most talented actors in the Malayalam film industry, including Balu Varghese, Sreenath Bhasi, Arun Kurian, Ganapathy, Deepak Parambol, and Soubin Shahir. It is directed and written by Chidambaram, who is known for helming the 2021 comedy Jan. E. Man, which was also his directorial debut. The film is produced by Babu Shahir, Soubin Shahir, and Shawn Antony.

Shot in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the film’s production attracted a lot of attention since its title announcement. Vikram Dahiya serves as the film’s action choreographer, with Sushin Shyam composing the music and sound design by Shijin Hattan and Abhishek Nair.
