The trailer of Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s Lal Salaam trailer is finally here. The sports drama, which was supposed to be released on Pongal, was postponed to February 9. With a few days to go, the trailer of the film has been unveiled on the right time to keep the expectations soaring. As expected, Rajinikanth is the X factor of the film. The superstar plays the role of Moideen Bhai, who seems to be keeping the peace between the different communities in the film.

The trailer of Lal Salaam is choppy and provides only a vague idea about the film. Vishnu Vishal is the protagonist of the film. A Muslim, his character seems to have had a troubled past. He is an alcoholic and rabble-rouser, but a pujari predicts that he will bring a good name to his village. The game of cricket is his only means of redemption, but he isn’t given a fair chance.

And that’s when we get the swag entry of Rajinikanth, who plays the role of Moideen Bai. “I trust in the justice system. I just don’t trust a few black sheep in the system,” says the actor. The actor, as always, looks stylish. However, something is amiss in the trailer that doesn’t excite the viewer.

The subject of the film seems to be religious harmony, a topical subject. But the promo fails to create the necessary excitement.

The film is said to be about how the game of cricket is affected by communal tension. According to Rajinikanth, Lal Salaam is about communal harmony. AR Rahman, at the audio launch of the film, said he initially thought the film would be preachy, but Aishwarya has proved him wrong.

The cast of Lal Salaam includes Vishnu Vishal, Vikranth, Senthil, Jeevitha, Thambi Ramaiah, Ananthika Sanilkumar, Vivek Prasanna, and Thangadurai. Produced and presented by Lyca Productions, the film marks Aishwaryaa’s comeback to feature film direction after an eight-year hiatus since Vai Raja Vai.
