On the occasion of Silambarsan’s birthday today, Kamal Hassan’s production house Raaj Kamal Films International released Simbu’s first look from the much-anticipated film STR 48.
Taking to his X handle, Hassan shared the poster and wished Simbu a very happy birthday. Simbu replied and said, “Heartfelt gratitude for the wishes and blessings sir! Thank you for trusting me always.”
The latest poster of STR 48 has revealed that Silambarsan will have a dual role in the film and the actor is seen in a fierce avatar. Desingh Periyasamy will be directing the movie.
Raaj Kamal Films International also took to their X handle to share the poster and wrote, “Unleash the valour and witness this remarkable journey from #STR48. Wishing @SilambarasanTR_ a happy birthday.”
Opening up about STR 48, a source had previously told Pinkvilla, “It’s an out and out action film in the period set up and director Desingh Periyasamy plans to mount it as the biggest STR film till date. The estimated budget of the film will be around Rs 100 crore, thereby emerging the costliest film of STR’s career. It features STR in a dual role, and both the characters have their own distinct identity.”

With a tagline Blood and Battle, STR 48 marks the first collaboration between Silambarasan and Desingh. Simbu was last seen in director Obeli N Krishna’s Pathu Thala.
