Actor Hrithik Roshan, who is currently basking in the praise for his performance in Fighter, believes people need to plan their victory similarly as they do the process of achieving it. He learnt this lesson recently after giving the perfect body shots for the Siddharth Anand directorial aerial actioner, Fighter. The actor revealed that he resorted to smoking as he couldn’t comprehend what to do to celebrate his success.

While speaking to Film Companion, Hrithik revealed he had to undergo body transformation thrice for Fighter and it was extremely “difficult”. He shared, “I had to do three transformations, one just to check if I still have the ability before the film started, then did another when the film was on the floor, and then they had to cancel the shoot because of the weather conditions where they had to shoot. Then, I went on my summer break with my boys and when I came back I had to do the third transformation in 6-8 weeks. It was incredibly difficult and I had to shoot three songs back to back while I was doing transformation, which meant there was no fuel and I was just running on steam. ”

All his hard work paid off and he gave the perfect body shots for Fighter. But Hrithik didn’t know how to celebrate after the shots were done. “When the day came and my body shot got done, it got over, I was so happy and relieved. But nothing was filling me up. I had gajar ka halwa, ice cream, I had not planned for the reward, I had only planned to be in this Fighter flight mode and get this done,” Hrithik shared.

He continued, “I was like, ‘What do I do? What do I do?’. So, I picked up a cigarette and started smoking. I went into the other deep end and that’s a learning in itself because, in one week, my resting heart rate went up from 45 to 75. It’s that bad for you. So, I stopped. But it was a disaster. We only plan, schedule and brainstorm about the building, but what happens after the victory? That also needs a plan.”

Though Fighter has not received the desired reviews, the audience and critics are in awe of Hrithik’s performance. The appreciation for Fighter has boosted his confidence to move on to the sets of War 2, in which he shares the screen with Jr NTR.

He said, “There’s enough that has filled me up and encouraged me. I have got enough pat on my back for Fighter and that is something I have a lot of gratitude for and I am good to go, let’s go War. I have got the encouragement that I needed.”
