After a decent weekend which showed some momentum, actor Pankaj Tripathi headlined Main Atal Hoon witnessed a steep fall in its collection on first Monday as it netted an estimated Rs 80 lakh, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
For a healthy lifetime collection, it was important for Main Atal Hoon to match its opening day numbers of Rs 1.15 cr, but the film slipped in lakhs, making its journey ahead at the box office difficult. The film has so far netted Rs 6.45 cr.

Main Atal Hoon has now only two clear days to add some more moolah to its total box office collection before Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter arrives in cinemas. The Siddharth Anand directorial will release on January 25 and occupy maximum screens, which would mean a big dent in the showcasing for Main Atal Hoon.
The film is looking to wrap its lifetime collection in the range of Rs 10 cr. Directed by Ravi Jadhav and co-written by Jadhav and Rishi Virmani, Main Atal Hoon is the biopic of former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The film also stars Piyush Mishra, Raja Rameshkumar Sevak, Daya Shankar Pandey, Payal Nair, Paula McGlynn, and Gauri Sukhtankar in pivotal roles.
The Indian Express’ Shubhrta Gupta gave the film a 2-star rating and mentioned in her review, “Despite Pankaj Tripathi’s inspired portrayal, the film is reduced to a rah-rah hagiography of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and fails to do justice to his multiple facets.”
This was Pankaj Tripathi’s first release of the year. He will also be seen in the horror comedy Stree 2 and Anurag Basu’s romantic drama anthology Metro In Dino.
