The Israeli military reported that rockets fired from northern Gaza entered southern Israel on Sunday, just a day before the first anniversary of Hamas’s October 7 attack.

“Several projectiles were identified crossing from the northern Gaza Strip into Israeli territory. One projectile was intercepted, while the others landed in open areas,” the military said in a statement, news agency AFP reported.

Israeli forces remain on high alert as the anniversary of the unprecedented attack by Palestinian militants approaches.

Meanwhile, in northern Israel, rocket barrages from Lebanon have continued, setting off sirens and activating interception systems, as per a report by BBC.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that overnight, it intercepted around 30 rockets fired into the northern region of Israel. Throughout the day, sirens were also heard along Israel’s western coastline, stretching from Haifa in the north to Hadera in the south, according to a IDF post on X.
