Jax Taylor “made errors” while filing the court documents that gave his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, full custody of their 3-year-old son, Cruz, amid their ongoing divorce.
“While Jax made errors in filling out forms that are usually done by trained legal professionals, those errors will be amended without delay,” the “Vanderpump Rules” alum’s rep said in a statement to Wednesday.
The rep did not specify which part of Taylor’s filing was incorrect, but noted that custody was not an issue in their divorce.
“Jax and Brittany have already long resolved all matters related to custody of Cruz, and will continue to work together privately for the best interest of their son, which remains their overriding concern,” the rep added.
The court documents obtained by , which were filed in September, also claimed that Taylor, 45, and Cartwright, 35, were never legally married.
The “Valley” co-stars tied the knot in June 2019 in Cartwright’s home state of Kentucky. They welcomed Cruz in April 2021.
In February, Cartwright revealed on their joint podcast, “When Reality Hits,” that they were “taking time apart.”
She filied for divorce on Aug. 27 and listed their official date of separation as Jan. 24, 2024.
Throughout their separation, Cartwright repeatedly stated that Cruz was her main concern.
Taylor also cited their son as the reason he checked himself into a mental health facility in July. During his stay, he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and PTSD.

In a mid-September episode of their “When Reality Hits” podcast, he also revealed he’s considered a textbook “narcissist.”
On Tuesday, Cartwright shared an update on her co-parenting relationship with Taylor during an interview with E! News.
“We’re okay, we’re co-parenting. That’s the most important thing. Other than that, it is what it is,” she said.
She also said they won’t let their issues affect Cruz.
“It’s going to be fine no matter what, because we both love him so much,” Cartwright explained.
“So, even if Jax and I are fighting, it’s not going to ever come between Cruz.”
