Bollywood actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda underwent emergency surgery at Criti Care hospital in Juhu, Mumbai, on Tuesday, following an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound in the leg. Fortunately, the former Member of Parliament is now out of danger and on the road to recovery.

After visiting Govinda, his friend and former Maharashtra Legislative Council member Deepak Sawant briefed the media outside the hospital, stating, “Govinda is recovering well and is likely to be discharged within the next 24 to 48 hours.”

Sawant, after visiting Govinda, told reporters, “I’ve just met Govinda ji, and I’m delighted to report that he’s recovering well. His operation was a success, and he’s no longer in danger. He’ll likely be discharged from the hospital within 24 to 48 hours.”

Regarding the accident, Sawant clarified, “It was an unfortunate accidental mishap that occurred this morning. Govinda ji accidentally shot his thigh and injured his thigh bone. I’ve spoken to him personally, and he’s out of danger. I assure his fans that he’s in good health and recuperating well.”

When asked about the presence of family members during the incident, Sawant responded, “I’m not aware of the details regarding his family’s presence at the time of the accident.”

Shiv Sena spokesperson Krishna Hegge also shared a statement, giving an update on Govinda’s health. He said, “Govinda ji has shared an audio note and he is fine. He has thanked Dr Agarwal who removed the bullet from his leg. Govinda’s fans don’t need to worry as he is recuparating well. We at Shiv Sena extend our well wishes for Govinda ji’s recovery on behalf of all the Indian citizens.”

In an audio statement released to the media by Hegde, Govinda had expressed gratitude to his well-wishers. The actor said, “Namaste, pranam. I am Govinda. Due to your blessings, my parents’ blessings, and the grace of my guru… I was shot, but the bullet has been removed. I thank the doctors here, especially Dr. Garwal. Thank you all for your prayers and support.”
