The first episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 2 featured guests Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar, Vasan Bala, and Vedang Raina, who appeared to promote their upcoming film Jigra. Kapil Sharma has now released bits of the episode that didn’t make the final cut, offering fans a glimpse into an extended conversation. The clip shows Alia talking about the bond between her husband, Ranbir Kapoor, and their daughter, Raha. She also shared her experience of attending the Met Gala in a saree with a 23-foot-long train, while Karan discussed the cost of his Rs 35 lakh bag.

Kapil called Karan the “Bhishma Pitamah” of the industry, as many people seek his advice. When Kapil asked Karan who he turns to for guidance, Karan responded by naming his close friends—Alia Bhatt, Ayan Mukerji, Ranbir Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan, and Aditya Chopra—as his circle of consultants. Archana Puran Singh chimed in to ask who Karan seeks when he is heartbroken. Karan humorously replied, “I make a film on that.”

During the show, Kapil also asked Alia if Ranbir is capable of taking care of Raha on his own or if he gets confused and constantly calls her for help. Alia assured everyone that Ranbir is a “sorted” father and doesn’t need her assistance. She revealed Ranbir has even come up with a fun way to get Raha to eat by pretending that they are “refueling” planes as they spot them from the balcony. “He is very good and so sorted. He devises new games with her, and I find joy watching them,” Alia said.

While introducing Jigra’s director Vasan Bala, Kapil praised Vasan’s ability to create excellent cinema on a limited budget. He drew a comparison to Anurag Kashyap, who has also made iconic films like Ugly, Gangs of Wasseypur, and Black Friday on a shoestring budget. Kapil recalled Manoj Bajpayee once telling him that while Anurag makes good films with less money, he ruins the budget when given a bigger one. Karan agreed with a laugh, saying, “His historical account says that.”

The conversation then shifted to Alia Bhatt’s extravagant outfit at the Met Gala, where she wore a saree with a 23-foot-long train. Alia admitted that she didn’t use the washroom for six hours while in that attire, saying, “You don’t go to the washroom wearing a dress like that. I didn’t go for six hours.”

As the discussion of fashion continued, it was impossible to leave Karan Johar out of the conversation. Kapil quickly brought up Karan’s Rs 35 lakh bag that made headlines. Karan, visibly amused, said, “I don’t want to say anything on this. If I’ve carried that bag, I don’t know why people are so bothered about it. Unko kya ghanta farak padta hai (Why are they bothered about the price of my clothes or the bag I carry).”
