Simran is one of the most beloved actors in the Tamil film industry, and through her performances in various movies over the years, she has earned the admiration of audiences worldwide. In her 29-year career, she has delivered numerous superhits and worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, including “Superstar” Rajinikanth.

However, certain unverified reports concerning her and “Thalapathy” Vijay seem to have irked Simran, prompting her to share a lengthy post on social media denouncing the practice of spreading baseless rumours. Recently, the actor took to X (formerly Twitter), stating that she is not desperate to work with any major stars.

Simran expressed her disappointment, noting how people can emotionally manipulate others and how little their friends seem to care about it. She remarked, “Up until now, I’ve stayed quiet, but let me make it clear: I’m not desperate to line up and work with any big heroes. I’ve been there and done that. My goals are different now, and as a woman, I know my boundaries.”

Though Simran did not mention any names or address the rumours directly, the post made it clear how upset she was regarding the ongoing speculations. In the comments section, several netizens pointed out that she was likely referring to unverified reports claiming Simran had approached “Thalapathy” Vijay with plans to produce a film, but the actor had turned it down. There were also rumours that she had been approached for Thalapathy 69, Vijay’s last film before his political venture, directed by H Vinoth.

“For years, I remained silent when my name kept appearing on social media, being linked with one or another. But self-respect comes first. ‘STOP’ is a powerful word, and it’s the right one here,” she noted adding that she has never taken advantage of her name. “I’ve always stood firm for what’s right. I expect the same integrity from sensible people in the industry. Those spreading false rumours owe me a sincere apology.”

Simran has since further commented on the matter, criticising the production house bankrolling the project in focus. She told News18, “It is unfortunate that no one cross-checks such rumours. The onus is on the production house to stop rumours about casting. If something like this untoward happens, they have to intervene. I chose to react now because these things keep happening and must stop.”

Simran and Vijay have previously worked together in blockbuster films such as Thulladha Manamum Thullum (1999), Priyamanavale (2000), Nerrukku Ner (1997) and Udhaya (2004). She was last seen in Andhagan and is now gearing up for the release of the horror film Sabdham.
