As we had earlier reported, Dhanush’s next with the newly launched Dawn Pictures banner is set to be his fourth directorial venture after Pa Paandi, Raayan, and Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam. Announcing this officially, the National Award-winning actor shared the first poster from the film, which has been titled Idly Kadai.
Apart from directing Idly Kadai, he will also be headlining the film, which would be the project that would release after his ambitious Tamil-Telugu bilingual, Kubera, which marks his maiden collaboration with director Sekhar Kammula. There are speculations that Idly Kadai will be a rural drama featuring actors like his Thiruchitrambalam co-star and National Award winner Nithya Menen, Arun Vijay, Ashok Selvan, Sathyaraj, and Rajkiran.

The actor-filmmaker will be reuniting with his Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam composer GV Prakash Kumar for Idly Kadai. The film’s technical crew includes cinematographer Kiran Koushik and editor GK Prasanna. This will be a co-production between Aakash Baskaran’s Dawn Pictures and Dhanush’s home banner of Wunderbar Films. Red Giant Movies are also associated with the project.

Apart from Idly Kadai and Kubera, the Raayan actor has an exciting lineup of films, which includes the Ilaiyaraaja biopic helmed by Captain Miller director Arun Matheswaran, and Tere Ishq Mein, his reunion with Raanjhanaa director Aanand L Rai. Interestingly, there are also speculations that he would return to Hollywood with the Russo Brothers’s next set of Avengers films.
