Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina, the stars of the upcoming film Jigra, will appear on the season two premiere episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix. They will be joined by producer Karan Johar and director Vasan Bala. On the episode, Alia will address her marriage with Ranbir Kapoor, and identify Karan as the person who played Cupid for them. The new season of the variety show will debut on Netflix on September 21.

Kapil Sharma playfully teased Karan about his reputation as a matchmaker in the industry, saying, “Some people believe you run a marriage bureau in the industry.” Karan responded with a laugh, “I’ve helped many people find love, and they’re even married today. But I’m still single!”

Sharing her experience, Alia Bhatt shared, “Karan has a sixth sense when it comes to relationships. He predicted that Ranbir and I would make a great couple when we first became friends. He told me, ‘Alia, I think this is it’.” Karan added, “I knew it! I knew their friendship would blossom into something special, and it would last a lifetime.”

Alia and Ranbir first met many years ago, when they were approached to star in a film by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film never took off, and they didn’t work together till Brahmastra, which was released in 2022. In a recent interview with entrepreneur Nikhil Kamath, Ranbir revealed that they felt sparks on their first flight together after signing the film. “This is 2018, we started working on a film called Brahmastra. The first thing we did on Brahmastra was that we went to Tel Aviv to work with a movement coach. And on the plane was when we started our romance. That first day, it was on,” he said. “We started living together. She lived alone, I lived alone.”

Ranbir and Alia tied the knot in 2022. They welcomed their first child, daughter Raha, later that year. Get ready for epic conversations and non-stop laughter! Tune in to The Great Indian Kapil Show, every Saturday, only on Netflix!
