Himesh Reshammiya‘s father and music director Vipin Reshammiya died on Wednesday night in Mumbai. He was 87. The music director was reportedly facing breathing issues and age-related health problems. He was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai.

In a conversation with The Times of India, Vanita Thapar, a close friend of the Reshammiya family, confirmed the news and stated Vipin suffered from breathing problems. She shared that he passed away at 8:30 pm and called herself “more like family” to Himesh’s family. Vanita said, “I used to call him (Vipin) papa since the time he was making TV serials.” Vipin Reshammiya’s last rites will be performed on Thursday in Juhu, as per the report

Vipin was instrumental in introducing son Himesh to movie star Salman Khan in the 1990s. This started a long association between Himesh and Salman that started with a couple of songs in Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya and went on to making music for films like Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge, Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye, Tere Naam, among many others.
