Kapil Sharma is all set to return with the second season of The Great Indian Kapil Show on September 21. Ahead of its grand premiere, the makers recently unveiled the trailer, offering a glimpse of the celebrity lineup for the new season. While Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar were featured prominently in the trailer, it has now been confirmed that the actor-director duo will be the first guests on the show.
Alia and Karan will appear on the show to promote their upcoming film Jigra. They will be joined by Vedang Raina, who also plays a pivotal role in the movie. In the recently released trailer of The Great Indian Kapil Show, Alia was seen enjoying the comedic gags presented by Kapil’s team members Kiku Sharda and Sunil Grover. One memorable moment from the trailer shows Kiku dressed as Alia’s character from Gangubai Kathiawadi. When prompted by Kiku, Alia recreated her famous dialogue from Gully Boy, saying, “Mere boyfriend ke saath koi gulu gulu karenga toh dhoptuingi hi na usko… (I will beat her if she gets involved with my boyfriend).” In another amusing scene, Sunil Grover calls her by name, ‘Alia Bhatt,’ to which she corrects him, saying, “I am Alia Bhatt Kapoor.”
The makers of Jigra also recently released the film’s teaser trailer, featuring a somber Alia Bhatt talking about having no one in her life except her brother, played by Vedang Raina, who is racing against time. The film’s song “Chal Kudiye,” sung by Diljit Dosanjh and Alia, was also unveiled as part of the promotional activities.
Directed by Vasan Bala, Jigra is jointly produced by Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, Apoorva Mehta, Shaheen Bhatt, Somen Mishra, and Marijke DeSouza. The film is slated for release on October 11.
