Director Koratala Siva’s ambitious, big-budget action drama Devara: Part 1 is gearing up for its worldwide release, with the team leaving no stone unturned to ensure its success. As part of the promotional efforts, Siva, along with actors NT Rama Rao Jr (Jr NTR), Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor, recently sat down for a conversation with Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga to discuss the film. During the chat, they gave Vanga an in-depth look into the world of Devara, offering key insights into what the audiences can expect.

The makers of the movie recently unveiled a teaser of the interview, showing Vanga asking the group some interesting questions about the film. In the 82-second clip, Vanga points out notable visuals from the trailer, such as a shot where Devara slashes a rival with a machete and as the weapon cuts through the air, blood sprays in a semi-circle against the dark sky, temporarily giving the crescent moon the appearance of being full.

Koratala Siva also shares that he and Jr NTR have been friends for years. It may be recalled that their collaboration dates back to 2010 when Siva worked as the dialogue writer for Jr NTR’s Brindavanam. They later teamed up again for his directorial Janatha Garage (2016), which was a massive hit. In the teaser, Siva also opens up about the challenge of writing Janhvi Kapoor’s character.

At one point, Sandeep Reddy Vanga humorously asks Saif Ali Khan if he remembers any of his lines from the film. Saif replies with a grin, “I knew you’d ask me this,” hinting he had anticipated the question, as his lines were in Telugu, which he isn’t proficient in, cracking up the others.

When Vanga enquires about the runtime of Devara: Part 1, Siva playfully points out the irony of Vanga, the director of Animal, asking such a question. Jr NTR chimes in, asking how long Animal was, to which Vanga replies, “3 hours and 24 minutes,” evoking laughter from all. Vanga then jokingly asks Saif, “Do you get killed in the first part, or will you be in the second?” leaving Saif momentarily stunned.

Jr NTR then goes on to reveal that the production involved 35 days of underwater shooting and that the film will feature a sequence where the protagonist interacts with a shark, which he is particularly excited about. Meanwhile, Janhvi Kapoor predicts that Devara will be a major success and astonish viewers, with Jr NTR adding that some of the action scenes will leave audiences in awe. Devara: Part 1 will hit the screens on September 27.
