GOAT box office collection Day 6: Viay’s latest actioner The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) saw a further dip in collections on Tuesday, though it still managed to clock in double digit figures. The Tamil film, which features Vijay in a double role, had opened to mixed reception and it started to reflect in its collections as well, as the film recorded huge fall after the weekend.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) netted Rs 10.50 cr on Tuesday, which is a decline from its Monday collections of Rs 14.75 cr. The fall in just two days is significant, which makes it likely that the Venkat Prabhu film will now slip to single digit collections from Wednesday.

The total all-India collections of the film stand at Rs 162 cr, while its global gross has crossed Rs 315 cr. For a front-loaded film like The Greatest of All Time, which rides heavily on the star power of Vijay, the movie had to hold better on weekdays to ensure a long stable run. If the collections slip to single digits within a week, it will hamper the film’s chances to put up a big total.

Even though The Greatest of All Time has become the highest grossing Tamil film of the year so far, it pales in comparison to what Vijay’s last film, Leo, had done at the box office. The Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial ended its blockbuster run with Rs 340 cr India-nett collections and Rs 605 cr worldwide gross.

At the current pace, GOAT is likely to struggle to reach the staggering benchmark set by Leo. Makers would now hope that the film remains steady at lower levels and then record a jump in collections in its second weekend.

In terms of records, GOAT will now chase the worldwide figures of Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan: II, which had grossed Rs 344 cr. The film should cross this mark comfortably by the end of the week and become the sixth highest grossing Tamil film of all time. The film ahead of GOAT will then be Kamal Hassan fronted Vikram, which had ended its global run at Rs 414 cr.
