There is murder in the house, and everyone is suspect. Streaming giant Netflix on Wednesday dropped the trailer of its latest series The Perfect Couple, which is headlined by actor Nicole Kidman and marks the Hollywood debut of Ishaan Khatter.
The over two-minute-long trailer dives into the lives of the rich, dysfunctional Winbury family who find themselves the focus of a murder investigation. A body is discovered in their property after an “accident,” but they are far from the scared residents.
“Somebody has died. And somebody is guilty,” says the investigative officer as visuals show the “perfect” family coming under spotlight for the crime. The trailer shows two glimpses of Ishaan, including a blink and miss appearance. Although it doesn’t feature any dialogues, it seems like Ishaan will play friends of one of the family members.
The show also stars Dakota Fanning, Eve Hewson, Billy Howle, Jack Reynor, Meghann Fahy, Sam Nivola, Michael Beach, Donna Lynne Champlin, Mia Isaac, with Liev Schreiber and Isabelle Adjani

“Amelia Sacks is about to marry into one of the wealthiest families on Nantucket. Her disapproving future mother-in-law, famous novelist Greer Garrison Winbury, has spared no expense in planning what promises to be the premiere wedding of the season — until a body turns up on the beach. As secrets come to light, the stage is set for a real-life investigation that feels plucked from the pages of one of Greer’s novels. Suddenly, everyone is a suspect,” the official synopsis read.
The Perfect Couple is directed by Susanne Bier, known for titles like Bird Box, The Night Manager and The Undoing. The show is based on the book of the same name by Elin Hilderbrand. The six episodes series will premiere on September 5.
Apart from The Perfect Couple, Ishaan Khatter will also be seen in another Netflix project The Royals. The show will feature a star-studded cast, including Bhumi Pednekar, Zeenat Aman, Chunky Panday, Sakshi Tanwar, Dino Morea, and Milind Soman.
