According to reports, Rohit Godara, allegedly a member of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, has claimed responsibility for the alleged shooting, which supposedly occurred at two locations in Canada – Victoria Island and Woodbridge, Toronto. Dhillon’s house was reportedly targeted because the singer featured actor Salman Khan in his latest music video “Old Money”.

Amritpal Singh Dhillon, known professionally as AP Dhillon, is an Indian-Canadian rapper and Punjabi singer. Some of his most popular songs are “Brown Munde”, “Excuses”, “Summer High”, “With You”, “Dil Nu”, and “Insane.”

The alleged shooting outside Dhillon’s residence in Canada is not the first incident of an attack on an artiste of Indian origin. In November last year, Bishnoi had claimed responsibility for a purported shooting at singer Gippy Grewal’s house in Canada. The alleged incident took place in the White Rock neighbourhood in Vancouver.

Earlier, this year, in April, two motorcycle-borne persons opened fire outside Salman Khan’s residence — Galaxy Apartments — Bandra, Mumbai. Following the shooting, the Mumbai police declared jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his younger brother, Anmol Bishnoi,  as “wanted accused” in connection with the incident.

Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang has been targetting Salman Khan following the actor’s involvement in the 1998 Blackbuck killing case, during the shooting of the film Hum Saath Saath Hain (1999). Khan was accused of hunting a blackbuck in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
