On a recent episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, contestant Nareshi Meena left megastar Amitabh Bachchan emotional after she told him about her health condition. During the episode, Nareshi revealed that she had a brain tumour that was operated on but could not be completely removed due to its complicated position. She added that to treat her condition, she needs to undergo proton therapy, which is an expensive treatment and she came on the show to win money for the same. Hearing this, Amitabh promised that he would bear the expense for her treatment. Nareshi went on to win Rs 50 lakh on the show, and her life changed after that. In an exclusive interview with Indianexpress.com, the contestant revealed how she has shut many mouths with her stint on KBC 16. Nareshi also shared that Big B’s team has reached out to her and they are assisting her with the treatment.

She said, “His team has gotten in touch with me. They asked me to select the doctor and hospital where I need to get my therapy done. He will directly transfer the money to that hospital. He said they will spend as much money as needed, I just need to talk to them. The Rs 50 lakh winning amount will come to me, and the money that goes into my treatment will come from Big B sir’s pocket.”
Revealing how her stint on KBC 16 was a dream come true, Nareshi Meena said, “Meeting Big B and talking to him, it all became possible through KBC. These are the best moments of my life. People walk up to me now and tell me I did wonders on the show. I have shut a lot of mouths with my stint in KBC. My confidence got a boost too.”
Nareshi feels happy that she could gift her mother the jewellery she sold for her treatment and adds that she gifted her aunt gold earrings as soon as he returned from the show. “I feel happy that I will be able to make the jewellery that my mom sold off for my treatment. I am happy they got a little famous because of me. They have been very happy. People have been congratulating me. When I returned home, my entire village kept a welcome party.”

Now that Nareshi Meena has met Amitabh Bachchan, she wishes to also meet Nana Patekar and Paresh Rawal someday. “I am a big fan of them,” she says. When asked how would she use the prize money, after she makes her mother’s jewellery, Naresh shared, “I am not sure, but I want to build my home. However, that is not confirmed since I have to get married too.”
Nareshi also revealed that she has been trying to come on KBC since 2017, and despite cracking multiple auditions, she only managed to reach the show after seven years. When she finally made it to the hot seat, her family was quite happy. “No one ever thought I would be there, so all of them were very happy. I never told anybody about this until the KBC people came to shoot.”

Lastly, Nareshi, who hails from Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan, said that she feels happy that she has not been a burden on anyone given her health condition.
