Bollywood actor and politician Kangana Ranaut has finally broken her silence regarding her absence from the highly publicized wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, which saw almost all major Bollywood celebrities in attendance. In a recent interaction, the Queen actor revealed the reason for not attending the event, despite being personally invited by Anant himself.
During an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Kangana shared that she missed the Ambani wedding because her own brother was getting married on the same date. She explained, “I got a call from Anant Ambani, and he is such a lovely boy. He told me, ‘Come to my wedding’. I said, ‘I have a wedding at my home’. That day was a very auspicious day and my younger brother was getting married.”
Kangana Ranaut, who had previously claimed to be boycotted by Bollywood celebrities, also added that she generally prefers not to attend ‘filmy’ weddings. “Khair, aese bhi main avoid hi karti hoon zyada filmy shaadiyon mein jaana (Anyway, I avoid attending film industry weddings). But I wish them the best,” she said.
After months of pre-wedding celebrations across the globe, Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant tied the knot on July 12 in Mumbai. The star-studded ceremony included big names from Bollywood like Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and Hrithik Roshan. International celebrities such as Kim and Khloe Kardashian, John Cena, Nick Jonas, and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair were also in attendance.
On the professional front, Kangana Ranaut is currently busy promoting her upcoming film Emergency, in which she portrays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film also stars Anupam Kher and Shreyas Talpade in pivotal roles and is set to release in theatres on September 6.
