Stree 2 box office collection day 9: The Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-starrer Stree 2 has been in the theatres for nine days now and is still going strong. The Amar Kaushik directorial earned Rs 16.5 crore nett on its ninth day, according to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk. The film has successfully crossed the Rs 300 crore mark in India, emerging as the biggest Hindi hit of the year as well as the most successful film of both Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor. The film’s nett domestic total currently stands at Rs 308.15 crore.
On its ninth day, Stree 2 had an overall occupancy of 26.73% with majority of the shows screened in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Ahmedabad and Pune. The film had 1091 shows in Mumbai and witnessed an overall occupancy of 29.75 percent. Meanwhile, in the Delhi-NCR region, the film witnessed an overall occupancy of 31.25 percent with 1152 shows. In Ahmedabad, the film had 620 shows with 18 percent occupancy and in Pune, Stree 2 saw an overall occupancy of 25.75 percent with 430 shows.
For Shraddha Kapoor, Stree 2 is her biggest hit yet as her last biggest grosser was Chhichhore (Rs 153.16 crore) followed by Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar (Rs 147.28 crore), Saaho (Rs 145.67 crore), and Stree (Rs 129.83 crore). For Rajkummar Rao, Stree was his biggest hit before Stree 2. The 2018 film made Rs 129.83 crore in India.

The producers of Stree 2, Maddock Films, claimed that the film made Rs 428 crore gross worldwide in the first eight days. In India, the gross figure stands at Rs 363 crore and the overseas figure is currently at Rs 64.5 crore. Stree 2 is on the verge of crossing Dunki’s worldwide collection. The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer made Rs 454 crore worldwide.
Stree 2 was released against Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein at the box office on Independence Day. While Vedaa collected just Rs 22 lakh on its ninth day, Akshay Kumar-starrer Khel Khel Mein earned Rs 62 lakh, according to Sacnilk. The horror-comedy, fifth in Dinesh Vijan’s horror universe, also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee in pivotal roles. Tamannaah Bhatia is also seen in a special appearance in the film.
With no big releases this weekend, it seems like Stree 2 will have a smooth run at the theatres in its second weekend as well.
