Rumer Willis confirmed Thursday that she and her longtime boyfriend, Derek Richard Thomas, have broken up.
“Are you and Derek still a couple?” one social media user asked during Willis’ Instagram AMA, to which the “Chicago” actress replied, “Nope I am single momming it and co-parenting.”
Willis, 36, added that she’s “so grateful” for her daughter, Louetta, whom they welcomed in April 2023.
“She is the best thing in my life and I am forever grateful I was able to have the time in that relationship for her to come into my life,” Willis concluded.
It’s unclear when the daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis began dating the Vista Kicks frontman, but she confirmed their romance in November 2022 with PDA-packed images.
They had been rumored to be romantically involved since at least August of that year, as Thomas paid tribute to Rumer on her birthday.

“In the short time we’ve been together you have filled my life with joy and peace,” he captioned an Instagram photo of the “Dancing With the Stars” alum at the time.
“Everything is just so easy with you. We sing, we dance, we play and most of all we laugh. Thank you for being you 😘 you’re a magical human I’m so glad you came into my life,” he added.
The “House Bunny” actress announced that she and Thomas were expecting their first child in December 2022. When fans learned of the pair’s choice of name for their daughter, Rumer admitted “Louetta” came from a “typo.”
“We were thinking about the name Loretta, and it was a typo,” she told People. “Her dad and I were texting, and he left the ‘R’ out of Loretta, and it was just Louetta.”
Rumer eventually changed her story, explaining that the name honored the “Die Hard” star, who is battling dementia and aphasia.
“We wanted to give her options and me and my dad’s favorite singers are Lou = Louie Armstrong, Etta = Etta James, Isley = Isley Brothers,” she shared on her Instagram Story last December.
