Rohit Shetty is bringing the silver screen experience of watching large-scale action to streaming platforms with his upcoming series Indian Police Force which stars Shilpa Shetty in one of the key roles. In one of the recent interviews, Shilpa, who is now the first female cop of the director’s famous cop universe, said that Rohit is a “bigger diva” than her and called him a “tyrant” on sets.

In a chat with Instant Bollywood, when Shilpa was asked about the one thing she loved and tolerated about Rohit, she laughed upon hearing the question and before answering the question, she declared “this is panga (problem.)” Talking about the thing that she loved about Rohit, Shilpa said, “One thing I love about Rohit Shetty is that he presents his actors so amazingly, so much swag. I love that about him.”

She then answered, “What I hate about Rohit Shetty? He’s a diva, I call him a diva.” When asked why, she shared, “Between him and me, he is a bigger diva than me.” She then added, “And he is a tyrant on sets but it’s a good thing also, self-preservation.”

In another chat with Film Companion, Shilpa had shared that while on other sets, actors spend time rehearsing and deciding on the choreography of the scene, that is not the case with Rohit Shetty’s projects. He rehearses the entire scene with his assistants and makes the actors watch them so they know exactly what is expected out of them. Shilpa said she found this new and added that this also saved a lot of time on the set. She even mentioned that Rohit is very particular about details like costume, hair and makeup of his actors and takes a call on every little thing on the set.

At the trailer launch of the series, Shilpa said that she instantly said yes to the project. “When they came to narrate the part to me, the minute they said the character is called Tara Shetty, I was like ok. It was a checklist. I always wanted to work with Rohit, not because of the Shetty connection but because of the grasp he has on this milieu. For me, to be able to play a cop in his cop universe is nothing but a compliment. We were supposed to work a long long time back, but I am happy that it started off with this part,” she said.
