Two female stars came together to sing praise for another film– 12th Fail. Actors Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone on Tuesday showered love on filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s latest drama 12th Fail, which is headlined by Vikrant Massey.

The biographical drama, which is winning hearts on OTT after its successful theatrical run, made two new fans in Ali and Deepika, who took to Instagram to talk about the film. Alia Bhatt shared her review on her Instagram story and wrote she was “full of love” after finishing the film, which she said really “hit the spot” as she lauded Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

Vikrant re-shared Alia’s story and wrote, “Thank you so so much Alia! So happy to know you loved the film and had an experience to cherish. Yours words infuse strength to restart and better my craft. Much much love.”

Based on a book by Anurag Pathak, 12th Fail chronicled the life of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who overcame extreme poverty to become an Indian Police Service officer. The film put a spotlight on his journey and how his wife, IRS officer Shraddha Joshi, was instrumental in his rise. In the film, Vikrant played Manoj while Medha Shankar was seen as Shraddha.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail emerged as the surprise hit of last year, as it clocked Rs 67 cr worldwide and went on to find wider audience when it premiered on Disney Plus Hotstar.
