Kriti Sanon has been enjoying a pretty successful 2024 so far with Crew and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. In 2023, however, Kriti saw one of the biggest flops of her career with Adipurush. Based on Ramayana, Adipurush saw Kriti playing Sita with Prabhas in the role of Lord Ram. The film was widely criticised for its visual effects and distasteful dialogues. When the movie bombed in the first week itself, it was a shock for the makers and in a recent interview, Kriti said that she felt a “deep sadness” after Adipurush’s failure.

When asked about how she handled the criticism that came her way after Adipurush flopped at the box office, the actor said that it was disheartening. “You feel a deep sadness and might even find yourself in tears, wondering what went wrong,” she said. Adipurush was criticised by many for hurting religious sentiments and the actor said that it was never their intention to do so. She said, “The goal is never to hurt anyone’s feelings; the intention behind every project is always positive. However, we must face the reality that sometimes things just don’t click, and it’s crucial to learn from these experiences.”

Kriti Sanon said that as an actor, there are many elements that are not in her control and added, “As an actor, the best approach is to stay focused, put in the effort, and concentrate on the next project. There are many variables beyond my control, but I strive to ensure that I fulfil my role to the best of my ability.”

Kriti said that she embraces “constructive criticism” and “distinguishes between genuine feedback and comments driven by others’ frustration”. “At home, after watching my films together, we have a chai session the next morning where my family gives me honest feedback on what they liked and didn’t like. I believe constructive criticism is beneficial. But it’s important not to let all types of criticism get to you too deeply,” she said.

Both of Kriti Sanon’s films this year have made over Rs 80 crore at the box office. She is now looking forward to the release of Do Patti, her first film as a producer, which also stars Kajol.
