Indian athlete Neeraj Chopra earned his second Olympics medal, a silver, in the men’s javelin throw event at the Paris Olympics on Thursday. Bollywood actors joined the nation in celebrating Neeraj’s big win as actors Sunny Deol, Vicky Kaushal and R Madhavan, among others, congratulated the sportsperson.
Sunny Deol took to X to pen a congratulatory note for Neeraj and the Indian hockey team for winning bronze medal at the ongoing Olympics in Paris. The Gadar 2 star shared Neeraj’s photos and wrote, “Immensely proud of #NeerajChopra and #IndianHockeyTeam for winning #parisolympics2024 #Silver and #Bronze Respectively 🥈🥉🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳 Golden Man Neeraj, you are the pride of our nation to have kept the Tiranga Flying high.”

Malaika Arora, who is in Paris, also cheered for the Indian squad competing at the Olympics, shared videos of different athletic activities from the Olympics village. She took to Instagram story to share how she was honoured to witness Neeraj Chopra’s silver medal winning performance at the javelin throw competition.

Neeraj Chopra became the first Indian track and field athlete to win a gold medal at the At Tokyo 2020 Olympics. He is also a world, Asian and Commonwealth Games champion. However, this year, he missed out on the gold medal due to a reported injury. Pakistani javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem took the gold medal home.

Actor Vicky Kaushal has been keenly following the ongoing Olympics. After penning a heartfelt note for wrestler Vinesh Phogat after she was disqualified, he wrote a cheerful note for Neeraj on his big win.
