Ulajh box office collection day 2: Janhvi Kapoor‘s latest spy-thriller Ulajh has been critically panned. As per several reviews, the film’s plot has been loosely put together which is why it fails to strike a chord. Despite a great set of actors, the film’s story comes across as quite amateurish. The film’s start at the box office has also not been very great. On its day one (Friday), the movie managed to collect Rs 1.15 crore. Though on day 2 (Saturday) the film saw some growth, the jump was rather small.

As per early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk, Janhvi Kapoor starrer Ulajh earned around Rs 1.70 crore. With this, the film’s total collection in two days stands at Rs 2.85 crore. Ulajh also stars Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Matthew, Sachin Khedekar, and Adil Hussain in important roles. Given Roshan’s popularity down south, Ulajh is witnessing great occupancy in Bengaluru and Chennai. In Chennai, the occupancy for Ulajh is 47.67 per cent. In Bengaluru, it is 33.50 per cent, followed by Pune and Mumbai.  The late-night shows are witnessing a better response as compared to other shows.

Ulajh’s competition at the box office is from Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu. However, that film also has been struggling to rake in the moolah. Ulajh is Janhvi Kapoor’s fifth theatrical release. Her earlier film with Rajkummar Rao, Mr. & Mrs. Mahi, performed much better at the box office as compared to Ulajh. On day 2, Mr & Mrs Mahi had earned Rs 4.65 crore.

With the thunderous box office records set by Kalki 2898 AD and Deadpool and Wolverine, not just Ulajh but many other films have been failing to impress the audience.
