Actor Janhvi Kapoor, who latest film, Ulajh, releases in theatres on Friday, attended the premiere of the film on Thursday evening. The guest list included several important members of the industry, including the veteran actor Rekha. Dressed in her trademark silk saree, Rekha looked graceful as she walked the red carpet. She kissed a giant poster of Janhvi Kapoor and proceeded to pose for the photographers.
She was also joined by Janhvi for some photo-ops. The two hugged each other, and Rekha kissed her head. Fans praised Rekha for supporting Janhvi at her film screening. One of them called Rekha a “mother figure” to Janhvi, and wrote, “Rekha ji and Sridevi ji were good friends so it’s only natural for Rekha ji to step in like a massi to her…. Like a mother figure to Janvhi.” Another fan wrote, “Wish Sri ma’am was here also😢”

Janhvi’s family members were also present at the screening to support her. Her father Boney Kapoor, sister Khushi Kapoor, and half-brother Arjun Kapoor were also clicked at the red carpet along with producer Karan Johar.

As per a recent report by Bollywood Hungama, Ulajh sold less than 750 tickets in advance sales, which was worse than Ajay Devgn and Tabu-starrer Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, which managed to only sell 1000 tickets. Just a few months ago, Janhvi was seen in Mr and Mrs Mahi, in which she starred alongside Rajkummar Rao. The movie opened at Rs 6.85 crore at the box office, and went on to make Rs 36.28 crore in its lifetime run.
After Ulajh, Janhvi will be seen in Devara, with Jr NTR, and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari with Varun Dhawan.
